036 - Mahatma, Sadhu Maharaj, and Sadhu Baba

Once upon a time, a King went hunting with his Minister and a soldier. As happens in such stories, they get lost.

The Kind found an old blind Sadhu meditating, went to him, did pranam, and asked, "Mahatma, please show me the way to the city." The sadhu asked him to take left.

After sometime the Minister came and asked, "Sadhu Maharaj, did anyone come here?"

The sadhu said, "Yes, the King had come and he went left." So the minister went left.

After sometime the soldier came and asked, "Sadhu baba, has anyone come here?" The sadhu said, "Yes, first the King , then the Minister, both went left.' So the soldier too went left.

All three reached the palace safely, shared with each other about their experiences, and all wondered how the blind sadhu could say, first the King came, then the Minister, etc - how did he know? So they went back to the sadhu and asked him.

The sadhu replied, "It's simple. the King addressed me Mahatma, the Minister Sadhu Maharaj, and the soldier Sadhu Baba. They gave themselves away by their bhasha, by their vani."

What and how you say to others reflects your own status and quality, not of others.
